When the owner of this 2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 asked us to convert his bike to a cafe racer, we wanted to do more than switch out the handlebars and seat pan.
The transformation began with the basics - a Ryca Cafe Racer Kit, including Burley rear shocks, fairing, handlebars, rear sets and Bassani exhaust. From there, we added a chain conversion kit, Morris Black Ops wheels with Metzeler tires and dual front brake package.
After that, things got a little more complicated as we took on the task of relocating the battery and oil housing, designing and fabricating a custom chin spoiler to maintain the aesthetics of the bike, concealing the newly relocated items.
Then we moved on to the fun stuff - performance! We amped up the power with the installation of a Harley-Davidson 1200cc piston kit and ported heads, Screaming Eagle Performance XL cam set, and Roland Sands Blunt Power Black Ops air cleaner, among other upgrades.
We finished the look with a gloss black powder coated frame and swing arm and a minimalist Spooky Fast custom paint job featuring a vivid black base with red pinstripes.
We're proud to return this bike to its owner and chalk up another one in the "if you can dream it, you can own it" category!
